Gawker, the flagship blog for Nick Denton's Gawker Media network, is a controversial celebrity gossip site founded in 2002. It drew heavy criticism for its dubious ethics and its practice of, in the words of former Gawker editor-in-chief A.J. Daulerio, "traffic whoring" and "SEO bomb throws". In 2014, Gawker was sued over its publication of Hulk Hogan's sex tape, and the $140.1 million judgment bankrupted Gawker Media.

Gawker is currently for sale.
